Discovering Love: Part 4 – Love one another as I have loved you
Everyone that Jesus loved here on Earth, He loved in spite of an offense against Him.

God’s intention with this is to draw you into relationships. The trouble is, we don’t find each other trustworthy enough to reach out for what we need from one another.
God only gave you a part of what you need. You’ll need to get the rest of what you need from other Christians. He’s given it to someone else to draw you into relationships that you wouldn’t seek out if the answer just dropped from the sky.
You get the feeling that the rest of the world looks at Christians and sees no marked difference enticing them to follow Jesus. Our divorce rate is the same. Many times, we’re just as bitter, angry, depressed and selfish as they are. Certainly they must have at least as much understanding of what’s going on in life as anyone in the church. And they get to sleep in on Sunday.
I am one with them, and you are one with me, so that they may become completely one. Then this world’s people will know that you sent me. They will know that you love my followers as much as you love me.
Answer the question either way, and you’ve created a theological quandary. Say “no, He can’t,” you’ve described a God with limits. Say, “yes, He can,” and you still have a God with limits.
